Any time you make a DNS (domain name server) change it takes around 24-48 hours to complete. During this proprogation time routers all over the world are updating their cache. This causes your site to be up and down randomly during the first 48 hours for different people at different times. Think of dns like a zip code. If you don't put a zip code on your mail the post office doesn't know where to send it. Domains are the same way if they don't have the DNS the internet doesn't know what server to send your request to.
To Point/Delegate Your Web Site To Purpose Hosting
Every registrar has a different procedure for changing your domains DNS, however they are all done basically the same way.
You need to simply log into your domain management panel of the company where you registered your domain.
Look for an area similar to 'manage my domain'.
Then look for a section/link to 'name servers'.
There will already be information in your name server section, of either the domain company or your existing hosting. Just delete or overwrite these details with
- ns1.purposehosting.com
- ns2.purposehosting.com
Some companies may have space for 3 or more name servers, but you only need these 2. Please delete any others.
That's it!!
Simply notify Purpose hosting you have completed this and you will soon receive a confirmation email with the access details of your new web hosting with PurposeHosting.com
